 Dr Kerrie Lay  BVSc(Hons) MVS, MACVSc

About : Kerrie graduated from the University of Queensland in 1985. She dabbled in mixed practice for one year before deciding that her true interest lay in caring for dogs and cats and their owners. Kerrie purchased the Rowville Veterinary Clinic in 1988. Since then she has led the practice through a period of huge growth as well as achieving a Masters of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery from Murdoch University and being admitted to the Australian College of Veterinary Surgeons (canine medicine chapter) by examination. Kerrie regularly attends conferences and seminars and has recently completed a year long course in feline medicine. Kerrie's knowledge and experience make her an indispensible member of the team.

Kerrie has a special interest in feline and canine medicine. 

Pets : Kerrie is owned by a wire haired Jack Russell called Little and a gorgeous cat called Jack. 

Hobbies: Yoga, swimming, travelling, theatre, gardening and spending lots of time with her son Tom.

Most memorable veterinary moment : 'Everyday is memorable for me. I love my job.' 


 
 Dr Rachael Guthry  BSc (Hons) BVSc(Hons)

About : Rachael completed a Bachelor of Science with honours at the University of Melbourne in 1996. She then undertook a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and graduated from this in 2000. Rachael joined the team at Rowville as a new graduate in December 2000. Then, in July 2004, she became a partner. 

Over the past years Rachael has furthered her career via a number of courses, conferences and seminars. She has completed a year long course in ophthalmology and just recently completed a second year long course in surgery.  

Rachael has a special interest in surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry and neurology.

Pets :  A cheeky boxer x border collie called Boscorelli.

Hobbies : Shopping, pilates, spending time with family and friends and most importantly - spending time with her sons Dean and Ryan. 

Most memorable veterinary moment : Using an antiepileptic medication to stop excruciating nerve pain from a red back spider bite in a dog called Duke. 'That case gave me lots of grey hair!'


 
 Dr Monica Sellin  BVSc

About : Monica graduated from the University of Sydney in 1995. Her first job was in a small animal practice in her home town of Wollongong. Eighteen months later Monica made the big move to Melbourne. She worked at Anvet in Ashburton for 5 years and then at Templestowe Veterinary clinic for 18mths before joining the Rowville team in 2004. Lucky for us!

Over the years Monica has furthered her career via a number of courses, conferences and seminars. 

Monica has a special interest in feline medicine and in dermatology.

Pets: Monica has 2 very playful kitties Barney and Jasmine.

Hobbies : Wine appreciation, reading, Formula 1 car racing and exercise - look out for her at the 1000 steps in Mt Dandenong!

 


 
 Dr Kristen Moran  BVSc (Hons)

About :  Following graduation from the University of Melbourne in 1993 Kristen worked in mixed practice in outer Melbourne before heading off overseas. There she had the privilege of treating animals ranging from a lamb with a broken leg to orphaned baby seals, badgers with frostbite and elephants with saddle abscesses and sore feet! However, on returning to Australia in 1998 Kristen's main interest lay in looking after people's beloved furry friends. We feel priviledged to have had her join our team in 2006. 

Over the years Kristen has attended a number of conferences and seminars and has completed a year long course in Small Animal Medicine.

Hobbies : Reading, travelling and bushwalking, particularly long-distance treks, and all things involving her two young daughters Molly and Bridie.

Most memorable veterinary moment : Travelling out to a small village in the Nepalese jungle to treat a cow following a tiger attack, only to also have to give a newborn baby its first vaccination. I discovered then that babies howl louder than puppies!


 
 Dr Leah Richards  BVSc

Leah studied Bachelor of Science at Melbourne University, before moving to Perth to study Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at Murdoch University. Upon graduation in 2009, Leah travelled through North India, the Himalayas of Nepal and Tibet, before returning home to Melbourne and joining the Rowville Veterinary team.

Leah has a special interest in anaesthesia and pain management, complementary medicine and wildlife conservation. 

Pets: Leah is owned by her beautiful flat-coated retriever "Bali", old grandma cat "Nala" and new adopted baby greyhound "Bli".

Hobbies: Yoga, running, meditation, surfing, travelling and doggy beach walks.

Most memorable veterinary moment: Anaesthetising a pride of lions in the middle of the night in the Kruger National Park desert, South Africa, to test and vaccinate the big cats against rabies.
