Puppy preschool is open to puppies of all breeds between the ages of 8 to 14 weeks. This period of a puppy’s life is VITAL with regard to socialization with new people and other dogs of all shapes and sizes. Puppy school is a 4 week course of 1 hour sessions, where puppies are taught exercises such as sit, drop, stand, stay and come using positive motivation training techniques. Other topics covered include the importance of toys, desensitization to loud noises and of course the importance of socialization. We also cover any questions that arise such as problems at home with toilet training, digging, barking etc. Puppies that attend our classes feel much more comfortable at the clinic on subsequent visits.
Classes are held with a maximum of 5 puppies with two instructors present at every class. A staff member who is Delta* trained is present at each class. Puppy school is held on Tuesday evenings and classes rotate between two time slots 6.15pm – 7.15pm and 7.30pm – 8.30pm with a new course starting every two weeks. Bookings are essential and can be made on 9763-1799. Payment must be made at the time of booking as our classes are very popular. Puppies must be no older than 15 weeks at the commencement of their first class. If you are unable to make a booking for your puppy before this age please ask our staff if you are eligible to attend the "Next Step" classes detailed elsewhere. The cost of puppy school is $85 for 4 weekly sessions.
Due to the size of our training area we can only allow 2 people to accompany each puppy. Children 5 years old and over are more than welcome to participate.
Puppies must have had at least one vaccination prior to commencement of the first class. If your puppy has been vaccinated elsewhere please bring along the vaccination certificate so we can record the details.
